Long Time No Post - My First TSD as "RallyMaster"
I felt I should post something here since its been far too long. Since the last post over a year ago I think there was two rallycross events and a few TSD's but nothing excessive since the great COVi Fudged the entire world up. And then Dad got sicker on top of his sickness which spiraled down to him passing on April 3rd. That's a whole post for another day as I still can't figure out the words to express the concept of his passing. So i've resorted to some silence and just trying to accomplish shit. April 17th 2021 was one of those accomplishments. With the help of Scott Beliveau I was able to create a TSD for New England Region SCCA - "SEACOAST SCRAMBLE 2021.
It was an evening event kicking off in Northwood, NH at 7:00pm and traveling a zig and a zag throughout the seacoast, covering about 140miles with the first car finishing around 1am give or take. No one got seriously lost, all competitors finished with some real good scores. We had a field of 10 Novices and a majority of the Novice class was first timers. Mission Accomplished. That was my goal for the event: Showcase some roads that mean alot to me and my growing up in life, bring in some newbies, keep them on their toes but not so difficult they never try again and make a few memories. It's been hard to keep on during the construction of this event but I kept going. I said a few weeks ago, that i didn't think i'd ever do another one. But after the immense amount of positive feedback and critique I got........ well..... I'll probably do another, maybe fall............. MAYbe WINTER???? who knows.

2020 - Lets See What We Can Pull Off
Social Media:
We've added Reddit, YouTube, Vimeo to our online outlets. With that I've slipped back into editing video & my own music. It's been awhile since I worked with that creative side of the brain. So some 2019 reCap edits are close to being released.
Schedule:
RallyCross: 2020 is off to an interesting start. January hasn't brought southern New England much of a winter, so our Double Day CT RallyCross was postponed and later cancelled. Canaan, NH will now be our first NERSCCA RallyCross events for the year, on Feb 15th & March 15th. Canaan's New No Stud rule will be an interesting mix up to everyone's race day formula. April brings us back to Rochester, NH which I'm always excited for since it's our closest event and this year we have a host of people coming out to watch and ride with me.
Ice Racing: Doesn't seem to exist in the Northeast of America anymore. We did get an invite late on a Friday night in January with coordinates to a private pond. There we found a course on ice and a parking lot of some amazing ice drivers. Most everyone had SuperStud tires on.... I showed with my DOT's. Even with the less grip I was making some great "lap times". This was great as I was able to really bond with Earl on slippy slippy stuff.
HillClimb: HillClimb season kicks off in May with my personal favorite, Mt Philo in Charlotte, VT. Followed closeley by my 2nd favorite, Mt Ascutney. June brings us to Okemo Mountain. Which will be a rookie hill for me. That will be exciting. From what i've seen this is a fun hill.
RoadRally: Tim & I will be up at John Buffum's Winter Challenge RoadRally Feb 22nd & 23rd. This event has been a bucket list event for me. I'm super excited to explore VT into the early morning. NER will also host a full night TSD rally on March 7th that I'm keeping on my radar. Let's see how WC2020 goes.
CarShows: Earl won't make it to the season opener of Seacoast Cars & Coffee but keep an eye out for the June SC&C. Hoping to make a few local Weeknight ride and dines too.

2019 NER RallyCross Season
Ups and Downs. My main goal this season was to compete in every NER RallyCross in 2019 & Finish in the top 10 overall in ModAWD. And I did it. I learned a ton over this year and have gained back some of the wheel skill I haven't used in a long while and it feels good. I'm now able to address areas that myself and the car can improve on & then move forward to 2020.
For 2020 I'm focusing on a complete HillClimb Season and a Complete RallyCross Season. It looks like they overlap on one or two occasions this upcoming year, so I'll be trading one for one where necessary. It's going to be a juggle but I can do it. I'm also hoping for a nice Ice Season so I can at least compete in an ice event. If not I'm looking to meet up with some new friends and go play on some ice.
2020 could also bring some track racing too. I was presented with an offer to race endurance races so that's definitely on the back burner.
And of course, I've recently become a #SubaruAmbassador. Which is great because unofficially I have been since 2003ish 👍😁. We plan to be at every Seacoast Cars and Coffee in 2020 that doesn't conflict with a race day as well as other various car shows and meets. Swing by for some swag.
As always, follow our Social Media onslaught for fun times, family times, race times and everything else in between. And keep an eye out for some video action. I've been in the process of editing video and some old music of mine in hopes to get the name out there!!

Lessons
Was back at Canaan yesterday. My performance was less than I had hoped for. But I learned some things and met some great people so all in all worth it.
Finally got some in car video rigged up, will be posting soon.

1 on and 1 off
We got a RallyCross in at Mt. Okemo but had a cancellation of venue for Rochester. Okemo was a great time though. Good to see the ol' NER RallyCross Crew.
Also attended the last Seacoast cars and Coffee of 2019. Which is always a great turnout. Cars and Coffee will be doing a Trunk Or Treat 10/19 so we'll be there for that.
